Your ego's job is to protect you.

How does it do it? Speaking the language of a
universal emotion. It is called fear.

Fear of failing, of receiving criticism, of taking
risks, of feeling uneasy, of being judged, rejected, fear of being imperfect, vulnerable.
Why does it do this? Because it has the task of
protecting you, of making you stay safe by avoiding suffering.

The ego strategy works great in building a comfort
zone around you in which to stay safe. The problem
is that it also produces other results:

- it doesn't make you grow

- creates resistance to change in you

- use rigid thinking patterns

- it limits you as an overprotective mother limits a lively baby

- does not allow you to explore your potential

- it doesn't help you find out who you are

Pay attention to the stories and beliefs your ego has created to protect you. Build your awareness of what is limiting you.
